Norwegian Wood

“What happens when people open their hearts?” Cigarette dangling from her lips, Reiko clapsed her hands together on the table. She was enjoying this. “They get better,” she said.

But not everyone. But I know that we all got this. So just hold on.

This is a story about love and life. Funny how wonderful and powerful love is but sometimes, some things overpowers out thoughts and it eats us. This book is also about how you live and survive each day esp when death is something that is close to you.

Aside from love and lust, Murakami knows how to slap you in the face with tons of socially relevant lines. His characters are really clever and interesting. He does not only dwell on pure entertainment but he also shows you insights and realities relevant to the majority.

Laslty, one of moral of the book is about living life even if those that are close to you decided to put an end to their life. You will always have a choice on what you want to happen in your life. And I hope that whenever you feel like giving up, you would always still choose to live even if its harder than it seems.
